In pursuance of the provisions of section 20 of the FINANCE (LOCAL PROPERTY TAX) ACT 2012 (as amended), I the undersigned, hereby notify the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage of the passing of a resolution at a meeting of the above mentioned local authority on Monday 28th September 2026 to the effect that the basic rate of local property tax should stand varied upwards by fifteen per cent (15%) for the year 2027 in respect of relevant residential properties situated in the local authority’s administrative area.

As an extension to the start date of the closed period for the application of organic fertiliser has been granted by the Department of Agriculture, the closed period will now commence on Thursday 8th October and will be in effect until the 15th January.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 58(18)(a) of the above Act, that Limerick City and County Council, being the Planning Authority for Limerick, at their Full Council Meeting on 28th September 2026, resolved to make Variation No. 3 to the Limerick Development Plan 2022 – 2028 (as varied). The Variation is effective immediately. 

In accordance with Part XI, Section 179 of the Planning and Development Acts 2000 (as amended) and Part 8, Article 81 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), notice is hereby given that Limerick City and County Council proposes to carry out the following development at 28 & 29 William Street Upper, Limerick City.

Fallen trees and branches are currently posing a possible danger at some Limerick City and County Council managed parks. Therefore, some Council managed parks will remain closed until the areas have been made safe. The People’s Park and O’ Brien Park are closed but other parks may be impacted also.

If wishing to avail of this extension farmers need to register with DAFM in advance of spreading. The closed period is now commencing Thursday 8th October and is in effect until the 15th January.
