Limerick City and County Council and Limerick Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) invite applications for funding under the Department of Rural and Community Development’s Local Enhancement Programme 2025

The Local Enhancement Programme 2025 is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and administered by the Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs) and the final approval of grants will be a matter for the LCDC.  Any not-for-profit community or voluntary group can apply.  Commercial organisations and individuals are not eligible for funding.

Notice of Extension of the Duration of the Croom Local Area Plan 2020 – 2026 

Notice is hereby given that subsequent to a resolution under Section 19 (1) (d) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (As Amended) Limerick City and County Council at their meeting of the Adare-Rathkeale Municipal District held on the 10th December 2024, extended the duration of the Croom Local Area Plan 2020– 2026  for a further four years.

Preparation of a Draft Town Centre First Plan for Rathkeale

Limerick City and County Council have prepared a Draft Town Centre First Plan for Rathkeale. The Plan has been prepared in line with the National Policy ‘Town Centre First – A Policy Approach for Irish Towns’ and is a regeneration and renewal focused plan, with a view to strengthening the role, image, vibrancy, vitality and resilience of Rathkeale town centre. The Plan is informed by consultation that has taken place to date and from the valuable input from the Town Team, and the local community, which now translates into an ambitious action plan for the future development of Rathkeale.

In accordance with Article 81A(2) of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), notice is hereby given that Limerick City and County Council intends to carry out a ‘housing development’ as defined by Section 179A(5) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended).
