Prosper Limerick was launched by the Guinness Enterprise Centre in Dublin with the aim of developing a network of support among Limerick's business diaspora to enhance prosperity in the city and county through co-operation, knowledge sharing, creativity, inspiration and a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Limerick entrepreneurs helped to launch the inaugural event on Thursday, 24th January 2019. The event shared insights into the Limerick entrepreneurship landscape. Guests heard from early stage Limerick start-ups who are developing jobs in the city and county and were joined by legendary Limerick entrepreneur Liam Woulfe who spoke about his entrepreneurial journey, lessons learned and challenges facing enterprises in Limerick.
Prosper Limerick was developed by the Guinness Enterprise Centre in partnership with Limerick City and County Council, the Limerick Local Enterprise Office, Innovate Limerick, Limerick Institute of Technology, University of Limerick and Enterprise Ireland, along with the Limerick working group based in Dublin.
The Guinness Enterprise Centre is the home for Limerick companies in Dublin. Limerick start-ups can avail of the co-working space for free when they are working in Dublin city. They have partnerships with Innovate Limerick, the Nexus Innovation Centre and Sports Tech Ireland. University of Limerick is also a partner in the GEC University Programme.
In February 2018, the Guinness Enterprise Centre was recognised as the world’s Top Business Incubator (Collaborating with University) at the prestigious UBI Awards in Toronto.
