New Wave Adventure Therapy has been named National Winner in the 2019 European Business Awards, one of the world’s largest business competitions.
It was chosen from 2,753 businesses named as Ones to Watch in a list of business excellence published in July and selected as a National Winner by a panel of independent judges including business leaders, politicians and academics. It is the best business in Ireland in the category The Inflexion European Entrepreneur of the Year Award and will now go on to represent Ireland in the final stage of the competition.
New Wave Adventure Therapy offers individually tailored programmes of therapeutic intervention for young people and adults towards recovery and resilience. Programmes are delivered exclusively on a one-to-one basis. Adventure therapy is the prescriptive use of adventure activities for therapeutic opportunity and our programmes can be considered an intensive outpatient service. New Wave’s programmes are grounded in professional social work practice and sessions take place through outdoor adventure activities and in natural settings.
Applications and referrals are welcomed from private clients and organisations. New Wave Adventure Therapy work closely with the Irish health and social care services to provide a unique, progressive, creative opportunity for support and recovery to clients with complex needs throughout Ireland. “Our approach is making a real difference for our clients who haven’t responded well to group-based and traditional therapies in the past,” says Philip Stallard, Director and Adventure Therapist with New Wave Adventure Therapy. “We are seeing our clients benefit in a range of ways from their adventure therapy programmes. The great thing is that each person’s programme is designed around their individual needs. No two programmes or sessions are the same so the experience is unique and each client’s engagement and progression is natural.”
Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards said: “This is a significant achievement and New Wave Adventure Therapy is an outstanding leader in their field. To be chosen as a National Winner means you show great innovation, ethics and success and are one of the best businesses in Europe. We wish New Wave Adventure Therapy the best of luck in the final round.”
New Wave Adventure Therapy will head to Warsaw, Poland on the 3rd and 4th of December to complete a final round of judging and attend both a Summit to engage in business issues, and the Gala Ceremony where the overall category winners for the 2019 European Business Awards will be announced.
The European Business Awards is now in its 12th year and its primary purpose is to support the development of a stronger and more successful business community throughout Europe. This year it considered over 120,000 businesses from 33 countries. Sponsors and partners include Inflexion, Germany Trade & Invest and Cision PR Newswire.
The company has posted a video online at www.businessawardseurope.com telling the unique story of their business success, and hopes the general public will vote for them to become the European Public Champion after the vote opens at 12:00 CET on Monday 16th September 2019.
Jasmin Stallard, Director, New Wave Adventure Therapy says: “Watch our video and vote for us to be the European Public Champion! This vote means a lot, as we are very proud of our company and our country, so to have public approval of our success is a great endorsement. Thank you to everyone in advance for their support.”
The public vote sees businesses competing against each other in 33 countries across Europe. The European Public Champion will be the company that receives the most votes and the winner will be announced at the Gala Final in Warsaw, Poland on the 4th December.
