Folens have put together a language support booklet to support Ukrainian students and teachers with Ukrainian children in the Primary and Post-Primary classroom for facilitating better communication. The booklets contain useful words and pictures such as feelings, hobbies, classroom objects and places at school, school facilities, classroom interactions etc.

Childcare in Ireland/ Догляд за дітьми

The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth has prepared a Parents Guide to Childcare in Ireland which has been translated to both Ukrainian and Russian and can be accessed here.

This short guide was written by Tusla to help parents who have recently arrived in Ireland. The guide provides information to help families navigate cultural differences, laws and ways of parenting, which may be different to their country of origin.

Free Counselling Services for Ukrainians/ Безкоштовна психологічна допомога для українців

Anyone in urgent need of Mental Health Services can  access this through a GP, if after 5pm they can ring University Hospital Limerick 061-301111 or attend the University Hospital Limerick and ask for the Mental Health Crisis Team after 4pm.

Host Supports

The Open Community have been in communication with many of the LA’s and NGO’s that are matching hosts with people who have been forced to flee from Ukraine. With the support of hosts and other partners The Open Community has developed a free toolkit of supports and resources, these include trauma-informed online training, regular online support sessions, a home sharing agreement, multilingual Integration app, and access to free legal advice.
