Draft Road Traffic Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws 2020 (30KPH)

Limerick City and County Council has, in exercise of its powers under Section 9 of the Road Traffic Act, 2004 (no.44 of 2004); as amended by Section 86 of the Road Traffic Act 2010 and having consulted with An Garda Siochána, hereby gives notice of its intention to make Speed Limit Bye-Laws in respect of the area comprising the administrative area of the County of Limerick. The purpose of these Bye-Laws is to provide for special speed limits for housing estates through the establishment of Slow Zones (30kph).

Notice of Extension of Time Compulsory Acquisition of Land: N24 Beary’s Cross Road Improvement Scheme Compulsory Purchase Order 2020

The Limerick City and County Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Local Authority”) refer you to the notices appearing in the Irish Independent on the 12th day March 2020 and the 16th day of April 2020 and on the Limerick Leader on the 14th day of March 2020 and the 18th day of April 2020,relating to the above Compulsory Purchase Order. As a result of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and the Government restrictions on access to certain offices, including the Local Authority Offices,owners, lessees and occupiers of the land and/or their agents and members of the public have been restricted in inspecting the Compulsory Purchase Order and the deposit map. The Local Authority has eased restrictions on access to its offices.

Temporary Closure of Roads

Roads Act 1993. Road Regulations 1994 – Article 12. Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provision of the Road Act 1993 of the intention of Limerick City and County Council to introduce the following temporary road closures and vehicle traffic and parking prohibitions to facilitate the reassignment of road space for public use and in particular accommodate COVID19 social distancing requirements, street furniture and additional space for pedestrians and cyclists.
