Notice is hereby given that Limerick City and County Council has made an Order (DG/2026/095) under Section 73 of the Roads Act, 1993 extinguishing the public right of way specified in the Schedule below. No objections, observations, or representations were received within the statutory consultation period.

A copy of the Order and the accompanying map indicating the public right of way extinguished may be inspected during public opening hours at Rathkeale Municipal District Office, New Line Road, Rathkeale Co Limerick.

In accordance with Section 177AE of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), notice is hereby given that Limerick City and County Council proposes to seek the approval of An Coimisiún Pleanála to carry out the following works located in the townlands of Templeathea West and Gortnagross;

Following a review, a draft Abbeyfeale (Parking Places) Bye-Laws 2026 have been prepared for the control and regulation of parking of vehicles in the town of Abbeyfeale. Limerick City and County Council proposes, pursuant to section 36 of the Road Traffic Act 1994 and sections 131 and 131A of, and Schedule 14A to, the Local Government Act 2001, to make new paid parking Bye-Laws applying in Abbeyfeale. These byelaws will revoke and replace the Limerick County Council Abbeyfeale (Parking Places) Bye-Laws 2010 as amended.

Notice is hereby given that the Draft Local Authority Budget for Limerick City and County Council for the financial year ending 31st December, 2027 will be considered by the Council at the Statutory Local Authority Budget Meeting which will be held on Friday, 20th November, 2026, at The Council Chamber, Dooradoyle, Limerick at 10.00am. A copy of the said Draft Local Authority Budget will be available in the Council Offices at Dooradoyle and Merchants Quay, Limerick from the 12th November 2026 and may be inspected there by any member of the public, free of charge, at any time that the offices are open for the transaction of official business (9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday). A copy of the Draft Local Authority Budget may be purchased for a fee of €5.00.

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 38 (3) of the Road Traffic Act 1994, as amended by the Public Transportation Regulation Act, 2009 (Section 46), Limerick City and County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to introduce the following road amendments on the R526 South Circular Road between Laurel Hill Avenue and the junction at St. Alphonsus Street/St. Gerard Street, Limerick City.

Section 9 of the Local Government Rates and Other Matters Act 2019 makes specific provision that elected members of a local authority may make a scheme providing for the abatement of rates in respect of vacant properties, and that such a scheme shall be approved at the local authority budget meeting, concerning the local financial year to which the scheme shall apply.

Limerick City and County Council wishes to advise the public that Fórsa and SIPTU have confirmed a full 24-hour strike on Wednesday, 14 October 2026. This is a national dispute involving all 31 local authorities and the wider public sector.

In pursuance of the provisions of section 20 of the FINANCE (LOCAL PROPERTY TAX) ACT 2012 (as amended), I the undersigned, hereby notify the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage of the passing of a resolution at a meeting of the above mentioned local authority on Monday 28th September 2026 to the effect that the basic rate of local property tax should stand varied upwards by fifteen per cent (15%) for the year 2027 in respect of relevant residential properties situated in the local authority’s administrative area.
