Christmas in Limerick 2026 – Creatives, Communities and Cultural Institutions Open Call

As preparations begin for another magical Christmas season, LCCC is inviting proposals from cultural institutions, creative professionals, community groups, schools, arts organisations and event organisers to help shape and enhance the Christmas in Limerick 2026 programme.

Christmas in Limerick is Limerick City’s hugely successful Christmas festival with an annual audience of over 80,000 people, transforming the city centre into a vibrant festive destination for residents and visitors alike.

LCCC’s vision is to create a cohesive, signature Christmas festival built around a walkable Christmas experience from King John’s Castle to O’Connell Crescent that celebrates Limerick’s Georgian character, culture, retail, and public realm, delivered through inclusive programming, premium experiences, and strong community and business partnerships.  

Building on the festival theme of Together for Christmas in Limerick, this Open Call seeks imaginative, high-quality proposals that celebrate Limerick's unique culture, creativity and community spirit. Successful projects should complement the wider Christmas programme, enhance the visitor experience, and contribute to the city's growing reputation as a premier Christmas destination.

To support the delivery of new and exciting projects, total funding of €15,000 is available through this Open Call. Funding will be awarded to a number of successful applicants, with individual awards expected to range from €500 to €5,000.

Whether through arts and culture, performance, community participation, heritage, storytelling, light installations, family experiences or innovative festive programming, we encourage applicants to bring forward creative ideas that will help make Christmas in Limerick 2026 a memorable and inclusive celebration for all.

Applications are now open and we look forward to receiving high-quality proposals that showcase the very best of Limerick's creativity, talent and community spirit.
