Volume 3 - Architectural Conservation Areas

The Limerick Development Plan 2022-2028 was adopted by the Elected Members of Limerick City and County Council at a Special Meeting on 17th June 2022 and came into effect on 29th July 2022. The documents below formed part of the preparation of the Development Plan and are for information purposes only.

Volume 3 outlines Limerick’s Architectural Conservation Areas (ACA). An ACA is a place, area, group of structures or townscape that is of special architectural, historical, archaeological, technical, social, cultural, or scientific, interest, or that contributes to the appreciation of a Protected Structure. The Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) provides the legislative basis for the protection of ACAs.

In addition, Volume 3 includes the Proposed Record of Protected Structures for Limerick and is broken up into the following documents:
