Limerick City and County Council operates a dual on-street parking payment system that incorporates disposable parking discs and a state of the art e-parking payment system.

This combination of parking control on the streets is widely regarded as efficient, flexible and most importantly convenient for visitors and locals.

Parking in Limerick City and County is regulated by Bye-Laws and national legislation. Details of the Council's Parking Bye-Laws can be accessed here.

e-Parking

With Limerick's e-parking payment service, which is accessible on all Limerick City and County on-street parking areas, customers can avail of 30-minutes parking for as little as €0.50.

Accessible Parking Spaces Locator

Accessible parking spaces in Limerick City Centre can be located using the Limerick e-Parking App. Simply click on the 'Accessible' link in the bottom right corner to view a map identifying the locations and whether an accessible space is currently occupied/unoccupied.

Parking Discs

Limerick City and County Council operates disc parking within the city and in the towns of Abbeyfeale, Newcastle West and Kilmallock.

Parking discs are available to purchase from the Cash Office in Merchant's Quay, Newcastle West and Kilmallock Municipal Offices and in retail outlets in the City Centre, Abbeyfeale, Kilmallock and Newcastle West.

The traffic department also carries out regular traffic and parking surveys in order to identify trends for forward planning and transportation measures.

The administration of traffic enforcement and parking control is operated within Limerick City and County Council. The pay-parking section is responsible for the management of the City and County Council’s off-street car parks and enforcement of parking bye-laws on the streets of Abbeyfeale, Newcastle West, Kilmallock and Limerick City streets.

Parking for Electrically Powered Vehicles

From the 1st September 2018 there is free parking for electrically powered vehicles that are recharging in designated electrically powered vehicle recharging bays.

This is subject to a maximum period of 4 hours free parking.
