The Ennis Road Active Travel Scheme is a project being delivered by Limerick City & County Council. It is being funded by the National Transport Authority.
The Scheme is intended to connect the Ennis Road to Sarsfield Bridge via a dedicated cycle and pedestrian facility.
The Scheme is considered a ‘Primary Radial Route’ in the Limerick Shannon Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy, which was prepared by the NTA in collaboration with Limerick City and County Council, Clare County Council, and Transport Infrastructure Ireland, with the co-operation of Irish Rail.
The Scheme is currently in the Concept Development and Options Selection stage (Phase 2 of 7 in the NTA’s Project Approval Guidelines).
