Limerick City and County Council’s Active Travel Team is introducing a ‘Green-Way to Go’ initiative in St. Nessan’s Primary School.
This initiative will run from the 11th of May to the 12th of June 2026. The aim of this programme is to encourage students to choose sustainable and healthy travel options when coming to and from school. These include walking, cycling, scooting, public/creche bus, or Park ‘n’ Stride.
What is Park 'n' Stride
Park your car about a 4-minute walk from the school. Choose a location that allows for easy access and exit away from the congested school zone, ensuring you are always respectful of residents and businesses.
How it works
- Each student will receive a Rewards Booklet.
- For every journey completed using one of the five approved modes, the student will receive one stamp in their booklet.
- A student who reaches 35 stamps and parent completes the survey using the QR code at the rear of the booklet.
- Upon completion, the student will receive an Active Travel Certificate in recognition of their participation and effort.
This programme aims to promote healthier habits and support a safer environment at front of school for all students.
