Moonwalks, Mixology and Main Events: Discover an Unexpected Night Out for July’s Twilight Thursdays

Limerick's vibrant night-time economy takes centre stage once again on Thursday 30 July as Twilight Thursdays transforms the city into a playground of music, culture, food and entertainment. This month's programme brings together an unexpected mix of experiences, from Michael Jackson-inspired dance workshops and pro wrestling to a cocktail trail, live music sessions and a silent reading gathering. 

Held on the last Thursday of every month, Twilight Thursdays is part of Limerick's Night-Time Economy initiative, encouraging people to stay out later, discover new experiences and enjoy the city after hours.  

Also in the mix this July are storytelling sessions, live street art, a mobile zoo, poetry gatherings, guided heritage tours and performances at venues throughout the city centre. With activities ranging from family-friendly attractions to unique late-night experiences, there is something for all ages to enjoy as Limerick comes alive for another memorable summer evening. 

July Twilight Thursdays highlights include: 

  • Twilight Tales at The Hunt Museum, featuring traditional Irish storytelling with Dáithí Collopy 

  • Limerick Milk Market's family evening with a mobile zoo, face painting, craft stalls and live music 

  • A Michael Jackson Showcase and Dance Workshop at Wickham Way 

  • Live street art and graffiti painting on George's Quay 

  • An Irish Fantasy Fiction Authors event at O'Mahony's Bookshop 

  • Silent Book Club at Fia's Café and Blue Flame Poetry Club at Solace Café 

  • The Siege of Limerick 1690 Walking Tour 

  • The Big Limerick Seisiún at The Locke Bar 

  • Live music sessions across city venues including The Old Quarter, Katie Daly's, Flannery's Bar, House Limerick and The Tavern 

  • Voices from the Parlour with Ann Blake at Mother Macs 

  • HardKnox Pro Wrestling's Twilight Throwdown at The Black Rabbit 

  • Arcade gaming tournaments at Level Up and Twilight Trivia Night at Phil Flannery's 

  • The inaugural Limerick Cocktail Festival, alongside a wide range of dining and food trail experiences throughout the city. 

Whether you're looking to dance like the King of Pop, discover a new favourite cocktail, cheer on ringside action, enjoy an evening of music and storytelling, or simply make the most of a summer night in the city, Twilight Thursdays on 30 July offers plenty of reasons to stay out a little longer and experience Limerick after hours.
