Explore colour, shape, and expression in this creative workshop inspired by Franz Marc’s Deer in the Forest I (1914).
Marc, a leading figure of the German Expressionist movement, believed that art should express emotion and the spiritual connection between animals and nature rather than simply recreate the visible world. Using soft pastels and collage, you’ll create your own expressive woodland scene, experimenting with bold, non-naturalistic colour, layered geometric shapes influenced by Cubism, and dynamic composition.
No previous experience is necessary. This workshop encourages creativity, experimentation and personal interpretation while introducing the ideas behind one of the twentieth century’s most influential artists.
