  • Limerick Mayoral Advisory and Implementation Committee October 2025

The Limerick Mayoral Advisory and Implementation Committee has convened for its seventh meeting, marking another milestone in the ongoing efforts to implement the More for Limerick Mayoral Programme for 2024-2029.

The committee is dedicated to reviewing progress and ensuring the effective delivery of the programme's goals. This was the first quarterly meeting attended by project managers from Grant Thornton, who have recently been hired by the Mayor to improve delivery of programme actions.

The meeting received an overview of the revised programme’s governance and improved programme management approach, along with an overview of the funding environment.

The Mayor advised the committee of his decision to appoint Dr Kathleen Regan of the Kemmy Business School at UL to the group, to assist with the committee’s understanding of the budgetary environment in which the programme is being delivered.

The group also heard updates on each of the three pillars of the programme: A More Liveable Limerick, A More Prosperous Limerick and a More Healthy Limerick.

Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, commented:

“This unique statutory committee is a huge resource to me in my efforts to get deliver of the very ambitious Mayoral Programme and help the organisation to navigate the transformation involved. It allows important strategic discussion involving Limerick City and County Council’s Executive team, elected councillors and representatives in a number of important different sectors across Limerick. There is a growing positivity around Limerick’s growth and it is key we maintain an ability to think differently and our can-do attitude.”
