Limerick City and County Council jointly hosted a webinar, Towards Round 5 of the Strategic Noise Mapping and Noise Action Planning: the possibilities offered by the soundscape approach, with University College London (UCL) for local authorities, industry and academia on Thursday 15th October 2026.
The webinar explored a proactive approach to environmental acoustic management, the soundscape approach, and how it might complement existing traditional noise action planning — focusing on how citizens perceive and value their acoustic environments.
The purpose of the webinar was to promote interest, share practical insights, and discuss the potential benefits of applying soundscape principles to Round 5 strategies.
