Green Clubs Programme has its origins in the Sustainable Development Goals Champion programme.
More information can be found at gov.ie - Sustainable Development Goals
Green Clubs are sporting clubs who improve the sustainability of their club including how the club grounds are managed and how activities are undertaken. The Programme is structured around the themes of:
- Energy
- Water
- Waste/Litter
- Biodiversity
- Travel & Transport.
Participating clubs establish Green Teams who can undertake club audits and engage in sustainability partnerships and projects within their community e.g. with Schools/Tidy Towns groups and other community groups.
Support is available in the form of toolkits at the links below and also from the Environment and Climate Action Department of Limerick City and County Council.
