Road Notices

Roads Act 1993. Road Regulations 1994 – Article 12. Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provision of the Road Act 1993 of the intention of Limerick City and County Council to introduce the following temporary road closures and vehicle traffic and parking prohibitions to facilitate the reassignment of road space for public use and in particular accommodate COVID19 social distancing requirements, street furniture and additional space for pedestrians and cyclists.

Limerick City and County Council wishes to advise motorists and road users that Crawford Street R516, at its Junction with Bruff Main Street R512 will be closed to through vehicular traffic from Monday 6th July to Monday the 13th July 2020.  This will result in road Detour from 08:00hrs Monday 6th of July 2020 to 18:00hrs 13th of July 2020. 

Limerick City and County Council wishes to advise motorists and road users of road resurfacing works along the R525 (Dalys Cross to Skehans Cross), Castleconnell, from Thursday 2nd July 2020 to Tuesday 7th July 2020 between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00. 

The Limerick City and County Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Local Authority”) refer you to the notices appearing in the Irish Independent on the 12th day March 2020 and the 16th day of April 2020 and on the Limerick Leader on the 14th day of March 2020 and the 18th day of April 2020,relating to the above Compulsory Purchase Order. As a result of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and the Government restrictions on access to certain offices, including the Local Authority Offices,owners, lessees and occupiers of the land and/or their agents and members of the public have been restricted in inspecting the Compulsory Purchase Order and the deposit map. The Local Authority has eased restrictions on access to its offices.

Single Lane closure will result in one way operation from Thursday 2nd of July 2020 to Friday 24th of July 2020 on the L1156 near Kilteely Church.

Roads Act 1993. Road Regulations 1994 – Article 12. Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of the Roads Act 1993 of the intention of Limerick City and County Council to close the road as detailed hereunder at the specified locations and times to facilitate works associated with the construction of a new post primary school.

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of the Roads Act 1993 of the decision of Limerick City and County Council to close the road as detailed hereunder at the specified locations and times to facilitate installation of a Cattle Underpass.

Adjacent to Limerick Prison. Limerick City and County Council advise motorists and road users that the above works will operate at the above location from Monday 8th June 2020 until Saturday 13th June 2020 from 9am - 6pm.

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of the Roads Act 1993 of the decision of Limerick City and County Council to extend the road closure on the section of road detailed hereunder at the specified locations and times to facilitate installation of ducting due to unforeseen delays on the project.  

Roads Act 1993. Road Regulations 1994 – Article 12. Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of the Roads Act 1993 of the decision of Limerick City and County Council to close the road as detailed hereunder at the specified locations and times to facilitate road improvement works to the R503 Limerick to Newport road. The road will be closed for 2 periods to facilitate (1) Road Recycling (max 5 days) and (2) Road Overlay works (max 5 days).

Roads Act 1993. Road Regulations 1994 – Article 12. Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of the Roads Act 1993 of the intention of Limerick City and County Council to close the road as detailed here under at the specified locations and times to facilitate repair of a watermain.

Limerick City and County Council has appointed Idaso Limited to carry out traffic surveys on National and Regional Roads in Limerick, Cork and Tipperary to assist with the planning and design of the NM20 Cork to Limerick Scheme.

Irish Water, working in partnership with Limerick City and County Council is carrying out the Adare Sewer Extension project. Shareridge Ltd. is working on behalf of Irish Water to deliver this project. This  project will extend an existing sewer for 365m from Adare Main St. southbound on the N21, which will reduce capacity issues in the area and improve operational performance. 

Limerick City and County Council advise motorists and road users that road works involving the Traffic Calming Scheme will take place on the N69 at Kilcornan Village between the hours of 7.00am and 7.00pm from Monday 13th January 2020 to Friday 31st July 2020.
