More than 100 festive gift ideas from local stores across the city and county for last minute shoppers.

The vast majority of Limerick shoppers are looking for local this Christmas and buying locally produced or sold products either online or in-store, this year, compared to 2019.

Research carried out on behalf of the Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) as part of their ‘Look for Local’ campaign has shown that 89% of Limerick consumers were now more likely to buy local in store this Christmas while 82% would buy local when shopping online.

The research by Amárach Research, sampled over 1,900 Irish consumers, and highlighted the surge across Ireland for consumers and businesses to support those in their own area.

The ‘Look for Local’ campaign is being activated by each of the 31 Local Enterprise Offices nationwide, including LEO Limerick. The hub on LocalEnterprise.ie/LookforLocal now has over 4,400 businesses listed, including more than 200 from Limerick, across a range of sectors that enables consumers and businesses to search for goods and services within their area.

In addition to the ‘Look for Local’ campaign, Limerick City and County Council also has the virtual marketplace Limerick.ie/Christmas to allow people to browse and buy from homegrown Limerick businesses, buy a local business voucher, find out about local neighbourhood food deliveries or where they can order a take-out from a favourite restaurant.

Limerick.ie also has a host of Christmas gift ideas for you as you search for that something special for your someone special.

Our Limerick Gift Guides feature 120 gift ideas all available from local stores across Limerick city and county.

You’ll find ideas for him, for her, for kids, Secret Santa, festive favourites, for foodies, eco-friendly and for your furry friend.
