Limerick City and County Council wishes to advise motorists, residents, businesses and road users that a temporary road closure will be in place on the L-1420 from the N21 roundabout junction to the Ballyouragan/Fanningstown (L-1478) junction at Caherass Nursing Home to facilitate the installation of a new watermain. The closure will affect L-1420 from the N21 roundabout junction to the Ballyouragan/Fanningstown (L-1478) junction at Caherass Nursing Home, a distance of approximately 2.2km. The road closure will be in effect from 21st September 2026 to 30th October 2026. The road will be closed daily between 8.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m., with a 24-hour closure in place on 30th October 2026.
Traffic will be diverted via the Ballyouragan/Fanningstown (L-1478), N20 and N21, with the reverse route applying for traffic travelling in the opposite direction. Pedestrian and local access will be accommodated at all times, and access for emergency services will be maintained throughout the works. A stop/go traffic management system will be in place where required.
