Proposed Footpaths & Traffic Calming Measures R522 – Dromcollogher, Co. Limerick

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 38 (3) of the Road Traffic Act 1994, as amended by the Public Transportation Regulation Act, 2009 (Section 46), Limerick City and County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to introduce the following road layout amendments on the R522 Dromcollogher, Co. Limerick:

  • Construction of 60m of 1.8m wide Footpath along the R522 into St Josephs Park.
  • Installation of a raised Pedestrian Crossing with Belisha Beacons to NTA-TCD-0700-010 & TII-CC-SCD-05134 east of St Josephs National School. 
  • Installation of a Speed ramp west of St Josephs National School.
  • Installation of new Stormwater Gullies.
  • Installation of appropriate Road Markings and Traffic Signage.
  • Upgrade of existing public lighting along the R522.

The works will involve the construction and installation of a new Pedestrian Crossing east of St Josephs National School to NTA Standard Detail NTA-TCD-0700-006 & TII-CC-SCD-05134 and construction of a Speed Ramp west of St Josephs National School, appropriate road markings and traffic signage. Construction of 60m of 1.8m wide approx. footpath from St Josephs Park along the R522. Installation of appropriate Road Markings and Traffic Signage.

Drawings and particulars of the proposed project are available for inspection at Newcastle West Area Office, Aras William Smith O Brien, Gortboy, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick (V42 EH73) and Limerick City and County Council, Dooradoyle Rd, Dooradoyle, Limerick, (V94 WV78) and may be inspected during normal office hours 9am to 5pm from Wednesday 17th  June 2026 to Wednesday 15th  July 2026 inclusive. They are also available for inspection online during the above timeframe at https://mypoint.limerick.ie 

Submissions or observations regarding the proposal may be made in writing to the above offices or online at https://mypoint.limerick.ie on or before 5pm, on Wednesday 15th of July 2026.
