A free Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day is taking place in Limerick on Saturday, 13th June 2026 from 9am to 1pm at Limerick Racecourse. This event is being organised by the Regional Waste Management Planning Offices in partnership with Limerick City and County Council and is funded by the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment.
Residents can safely dispose of a range of household hazardous items, including:
- Paints (limit of 10 cans/tubs per person)
- Cleaning chemicals and bleach
- Pesticides and garden chemicals
- Solvents and aerosols
- Automotive fluids (e.g. motor oil – 25 litre limit)
Please note:
- This event is strictly for household waste only (no commercial or farm waste)
- Certain items will not be accepted (e.g. medicines, WEEE, gas canisters)
- Pre-booking is required – entry is only permitted for those who have registered online
