Limerick City and County Council has announced revised opening hours and gate fees for its Civic Amenity Sites, taking effect from Tuesday, 2 June 2026. The changes are designed to provide greater flexibility for the public, including later evening access to recycling facilities outside of standard business hours.
The most significant change is the introduction of extended opening hours at the Mungret Civic Amenity Site, which will now remain open until 8pm on Thursdays and Fridays. This later closing time offers residents more convenient options to visit the facility outside of normal business hours.
In addition, the Kilmallock Civic Amenity Site will now open earlier at 9am on operating days, further enhancing accessibility for users.

Monday to Wednesday: 10am to 5pm
Thursday and Friday: 10am to 8pm
Saturday: 10am to 5pm
