Limerick City and County Council (LCCC) wishes to advise that 3no. trees, identified as references 4705, 4706, and 4707 and marked in red on the following map (Figure 1), are scheduled for removal on George’s Quay.

Following detailed investigation on the root structures, with supervision by an independent arborist, it is necessary to remove the trees identified 4705, 4706, and 4707 to facilitate the construction of the flood wall in this location. All works will be carried out in strict accordance with the LCCC Tree Management Policy. On George’s Quay, 6no. proposed trees will be planted in lieu of the felling (Figure 2) and 16no. trees will be planted by the allotments in St. Mary’s Park (Figure 3), in addition to 79no. trees which are due to be planted along the new embankment by St. Munchin’s Street, St. Mary’s Park.  Timber from the removed trees will be supplied to the LCCC Parks Department, where it will be repurposed for natural play spaces and other projects.
