Temporary Closure of Roads: Todds Bow Lane Closure, Limerick City

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of the Roads Act 1993 of the decision of Limerick City and County Council to close the sections of roads detailed hereunder at the specified locations and times to facilitate: Construction and Renovation Building Works to No. 6 William Street, Limerick. (Formally Shoe Zone), Retail Unit and Apartment/Residential Units above by Custy Construction Ltd for 2026 and into 2027.

Todds Bow (L-10542-4) from its junction with Cruises Street (L-10542-0 & L10542-2) to its junction with William Street (R527-16)

  • Pedestrian access to Cruises Street will remain in place and will be maintained at all times. Pedestrians are asked to use Chapel Street or O’Connell Street access points. The Lower Section of Todds Bow onto Denmark Street is not affected.
  • Local diversions will operate.
  • Existing business and yard access on Todds Bow to be maintained throughout construction process.
  • Emergency Service Vehicle access will be available at all times on Cruises Street.
  • Automated bollards are in place to facilitate deliveries from 06:00hrs to 11:00hrs on Cruises Street, these times should be used to facilitate access and egress to Todds Bow Lane if required.
  • Some of the taxi stand on William Street 10m from its junction with Todds Bow back will need to be set aside for the construction works process to facilitate deliveries. This will be delineated and maintained accordingly by Custy Construction Ltd for the duration of the works. Sarsfield Street stand may be used by public service vehicles/taxis if required.
