Hop on board Toots the Train and travel through the heart of Limerick city centre to experience the festive sights and Christmas lights. Cheery Christmas elves will be on hand at Santa’s Post Box to help children send their letters express to the North Pole, while festive music from carollers, choirs and local bands will provide musical merriment for Christmas shoppers throughout December.

Marvel at the clever creations at the Limerick Christmas Lego Show with speed build competitions, a Santa like no other and an original medieval castle model made with more than 200,000 LEGO bricks!

A Lot Like Christmas featuring The Snowman & Panto Pals at the University Concert Hall sees the welcome return of Richie Hayes & Myles Breen to the stage. With their hysterical endeavours, a sprinkling of song and the classic wonder of The Snowman movie, this will be unmissable family entertainment!

Nothing says Christmas quite like the delicious buzz of the Limerick Milk Market, a bustling foodie mecca in the heart of Limerick city centre. With stalls brimming with fresh local produce and the inviting aromas of seasonal cuisine, it is the perfect spot to soak up the festive atmosphere. Beat the winter chills at nearby Wickham Way with local vendors serving heart-warming food, creamy coffees and handmade gifts in a festival atmosphere.

Treaty City Brewery’s Medieval Quarter Night Fair takes place under the twinkling festoon lights of Nicholas Street after sundown. Wrap up in winter woollies and wander around the stalls displaying local crafts, festive food and a special seasonal brew of mulled red ale. Pop by the Christmas window installation designed by local Street Theatre Company, Lumen at neighbouring King John’s Castle - surely perfect backdrop for any family selfie!

Limerick Racecourse Christmas Festival

Racegoers can once again look forward to the longstanding tradition of the Limerick Christmas Racing Festival at Limerick Racecourse, while Thomond Park Stadium will host one of rugby’s oldest and fiercest derbies as Munster take on Leinster for a post-Christmas championship clash.

Christmas in Limerick

Hundreds of free parking spaces are being provided for shoppers and visitors to Limerick city centre this Christmas. With free parking daily from Saturday 11th December until Christmas Eve at the Irish Rail Depot, Roxboro Road, and on Saturdays and Sundays throughout December at Limerick City and County Council’s car park via Nicholas Street there’s no reason not to visit Limerick this Christmas!
