We are Lumen Street Theatre. We work with communities of interest through the prism of performative arts, showcasing festivals and parades that are spectacular and uplifting within the urban environment. One of our outstanding achievements is the creation of Samhain Festival, an Arts Council supported four day festival that takes place on Kings Island every October, a pillar in Limerick’s main cultural calendar.
Lumen Street Theatre's vision is to contribute to the vibrant artistic life of Limerick City and Co. We collaborate with distinctive & inspiring local community organisations to co-create new work that inspires pride and ownership of our cultural identity through education & street art spectacles. Lumen have designed & presented 4 Samhain, Limerick’s Hallowe'en Festivals and getting ready to deliver our 5th (October 27-29). Lumen continuously engages in events that foster relationships with local, national and international artists, arts organisations & community groups with the aim to expand the Festival. Lumen consists of practising artists whose ongoing professional development benefits the festival participants by sharing knowledge, ideas & expertise in the various areas the members of Lumen represent. Those include Fashion & costume design, visual arts, sculpture, print making, Street performance & Shadow Theatre.
