Watch House Cross Community Library has created a Digital Makers Hub with free-to-use software; DaVinci Resolve, Audacity, Affinity and GIMP to our computer suite.
These are free to use but often low-cost hardware does not have the capacity to run them.
This digital hub would act as an in-between and allow artists, filmmakers, musicians and designers to give them a go in a fun and informal environment.
To try new methods of making, the only thing an eligible member of the public would need to access these wares is a library card and access to their own cloud storage or hard drive to save their work.
We are starting out strong with our first artist Aisling McCallion, Aisling is an artist based in Cork and art educator in Limerick School of Art and Design.
Specialises in textiles, sustainability and 3D making. She will be showing you how to Weave with Excel where you can learn to develop experimental weave patterns using excel for paper weave & tapestry weaving.
Please bring along a USB Key or hard drive to save your work.
We are going to have it as first come first served for the first session (this might change depending on interest in future sessions) so feel free to come to this session (no booking required).
