Taking place over four exciting days, the programme features traditional turnip‑lantern carving, a guided Haunted Heritage Walk through some of the area’s most atmospheric sites and an intergenerational storytelling night where local legends and memories are shared across generations.
The festival culminates in the return of the much‑loved community Haunted House, created and performed by local young people for a playful, spooky, family‑friendly finale.

Get hands-on this Halloween and carve your own traditional turnip or pumpkin lantern. Perfect for all ages, this fun and creative workshop celebrates Samhain traditions while helping you create a glowing masterpiece to take home.

Take a guided evening stroll through Limerick’s Northside and uncover the stories, legends, and local folklore tied to some of its most historical landmarks. Visit locations including Thomond Bridge, King John’s Castle, and JJ Bowles as you hear tales of ghostly sightings, strange happenings, and centuries of local history. The walk finishes with tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, giving everyone a chance to relax and chat about the night’s discoveries.
- Ghost Stories and Folklore | Thursday 29th October @ 3pm
Step into an evening of stories, memories, and local folklore as generations come together to share ghost tales, Halloween traditions and stories from the past. This community gathering celebrates Limerick’s rich storytelling heritage while keeping local traditions alive for years to come.
- Haunted House | Friday 30th October @ 4.30pm
The community’s much-loved Haunted House is back, offering a fun-filled Halloween experience for the whole family. Meet spooky characters, discover surprises throughout the attraction and enjoy a well-earned treat at the end of your journey.
