Limerick City and County Council has welcomed the publication of the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Impact Report 2025, which highlights another strong year for enterprise growth across Limerick, with businesses supported by Local Enterprise Office Limerick creating 531 new jobs during the year and delivering a net employment gain of 259 jobs. By the end of 2025, LEO-supported companies in Limerick were employing 2,289 people across 310 client businesses.

The report demonstrates the significant contribution of small businesses and entrepreneurs to the local economy and reflects the continued success of the partnership between Limerick City and County Council, Enterprise Ireland and the national Local Enterprise Office network.

Limerick's performance places it amongst the strongest-performing counties nationally for gross job creation, reinforcing the county's growing reputation as a location where entrepreneurship, innovation and indigenous enterprise can thrive.

Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, said:

"The success of Local Enterprise Office Limerick demonstrates the strength, ambition and resilience of our local business community. Behind every new job created is an entrepreneur who has taken a risk, developed an idea and invested in the future of Limerick. Through Limerick City and County Council, we are proud to support the Local Enterprise Office in helping businesses start, grow and innovate. These results show that investing in local enterprise delivers real economic and social benefits for our communities."

Príomh Chomhairleoir of Limerick City and County Council, Cllr Tom Ruddle, added:

"Small businesses are the backbone of our towns, villages and neighbourhoods. The work carried out by Local Enterprise Office Limerick helps turn business ideas into sustainable enterprises that create employment and opportunity across the county. These figures show that local enterprise continues to be one of the most important drivers of economic growth in Limerick."

Director General of Limerick City and County Council, Dr Pat Daly, said:

"Enterprise development is a key priority for Limerick City and County Council and the achievements outlined in this report are a testament to the impact of targeted supports delivered through Local Enterprise Office Limerick. The creation of 531 jobs and a net gain of 259 jobs reflects the quality of businesses being supported and the dedication of the LEO team in helping entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey. "The figures contained in this year's Impact Report reflect the determination and ambition of Limerick entrepreneurs. Our role is to provide practical supports, expert guidance, mentoring, training and financial assistance that enable businesses to realise their potential. We are particularly encouraged by the level of job creation achieved by our client companies and by the growing number of entrepreneurs engaging with innovation, digitalisation, sustainability and export supports.
