Around the Table Self-Guided Tour

Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th September
  • Around the Table Self-Guided Tour

Wondering what a medieval drinking horn, Limerick-made silver tableware, a Picasso menu card, ancient wine vessels and Neolithic food-processing tools have in common?

The Hunt Museum invites you to wander its historic halls and discover how food and drink have shaped daily life, trade, status and shared rituals across thousands of years.

Uncover stories of brewing, salt, spices, tea, communal meals and hospitality. Local highlights include silver by Limerick makers John Purcell and Joseph Johns, connecting global food traditions with the city’s own craft heritage. Finish your journey in the Hunt Café, where a special culinary delight awaits intrepid travellers.

This tour offers a sneak peak into the upcoming exhibition Making Scents of the Collection, as well as a relaxed and meaningful opportunity to explore objects, people and place as part of Linger: Limerick Festival of Food, Heritage and Place.

Collect the self-guided trail at the museum reception.
