Road Traffic Notice: Thomond Park Concerts

Limerick City & County Council advise motorists and road users that positive traffic control will operate at the below Regional Roads & Traffic Signal Junctions locations and times by An Garda Síochana & Treaty Traffic Management at the Coach Parking Area & Thomond Park.

These traffic control operations are necessary to facilitate all 6 Concerts at Thomond Park in Limerick.

Locations:

  • TUS Moylish Roundabout
  • Hassett's Cross
  • Union Cross/Shelbourne Road (AGS Operational need)
  • Condell Rd/Shelbourne Rd (As Req.)
  • Ennis Rd/Jetland (Operational Needs TBC, Sat 27th )
  • Ennis Rd/Greenhills (Operational Needs TBC, Sat 27th)
  • Caherdavin (Ivan’s/Laya Health) Cross (Operational Needs TBC, Sat 27th)

Dates:

  • Friday 26th, Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th June, 2026 from 4pm to 11pm
  • Wednesday 1st July, 2026 from 4pm to 11pm
  • Tuesday 7th of July, 2026 from 4pm to 11pm
  • Wednesday 8th of July, 2026 from 4pm to 11pm

People attending the Concerts are asked to avail of parking in the city centre, by way of the multi-storey car parks and use public transport where possible. MCD, AGS & LCCC are encouraging the public to walk to Thomond Park from the city centre where it is possible to do so.

The preferred pedestrian route is Ennis Road to Shelbourne Road to avoid Active Travel Construction Works on Sexton Street North.

Limited coach/bus set down & pick up for private operators will be available at O’Callaghan Strand. Entry via Lower Shelbourne Road (R464)/(Salesian’s Roundabout) and exit at Sarsfield Bridge (R445). This will be a One-way system.

Local Access for Residents will be accommodated via the one-way system.

Emergency service vehicle access will be available at all times.

Local traffic diversions and temporary traffic management will operate for the concerts.

Residential and business access/egress will be maintained where it is safe to do so prior to the road closures being implemented.

Any inconvenience is regrettable but unavoidable.
