Proposed Works: Station Rd, Newcastle West (R521)

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 38 (3) of the Road Traffic Act 1994, as amended by the Public Transportation Regulation Act, 2009 (Section 46), Limerick City & County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to introduce the following road amendments adjacent to Station Road, (R521) Newcastle West, County Limerick.

  • Introduction of chicanes/build-outs on eastern approach to school, as a traffic calming measure.
  • Introduction of Buff Tactile paving’s to existing pedestrian crossings.
  • Removal and introduction of new line marking on eastern and western approach to school area.
  • Introduction of ‘School Zone’ road markings and pencil bollards along the front of school.

Drawings and particulars of the proposed project are available for inspection at:

  • Limerick City & Co. Council, Newcastle West Municipal District Office, Gortboy, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick (V42 EH73),

and may be inspected during office hours from Friday 5th June 2026 to Friday 3rd July 2026 inclusive. They are also available for inspection online during the above timeframe at https://mypoint.limerick.ie.

Submissions or observations regarding the proposal may be made in writing to the above office or online at https://mypoint.limerick.ie on or before 5pm, on Friday 3rd July 2026.
