Limerick City and County Council is pleased to confirm that the new Dual Carriageway from the Cratloe Road Roundabout to the Knockalisheen Road Roundabout - including the newly constructed Moyross Link Road - will open to traffic on Monday, 9 March, operating under traffic management arrangements.
This marks a major milestone in the ongoing programme to enhance connectivity, accessibility and transport safety in the city’s northside.
The partial opening of this significant new road infrastructure will enable the next phase of works, including the full demolition and reconstruction of Ballynanty Rail Bridge, which will be upgraded to include new footpaths and cycleways.
To facilitate these essential works, Knockalisheen Road will be fully closed, with traffic diverted via the newly opened Moyross Link Road. Preparatory works will begin the week of 9 March, with demolition of Ballynanty Bridge scheduled for 27 and 28 March.
A Residents’ Information Meeting for all those affected by the closure will take place this evening - Thursday, 5 March - at 6pm in Moyross Community Centre.
