Bike Week 2026

Saturday 9th May - Sunday 17th May
  • Families cycling over Thomond Bridge, Limerick taking part in Bike Week

Join us from 9th to 17th May 2026 and discover how enjoyable and accessible cycling in Limerick can be!

There’s never been a better time to get on a bike! Bike Week is a national celebration of everything we love about cycling: fun, freedom, and community. Each year, local authorities, community groups, cycling clubs, and many other organisations across Ireland host bike‑themed events for all ages and abilities.

From free bike checks and family-friendly cycles to exploring your neighbourhood and heritage tours, school events, festivals, and road races, Bike Week has something for everyone. It’s all about encouraging new, occasional, and seasoned cyclists to make cycling part of everyday life.

As part of this national initiative by the Department of Transport, Limerick City and County Council will host a full week of events. Our full event schedule will be added here soon, so stay tuned!
