The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Limerick City and County Council took place today (Mon 30 June) in the Council Chamber in Dooradoyle, attended by Limerick’s 40 elected Councillors, Mayor of Limerick John Moran, and members of the Council Executive.
At the meeting, Cllr Catherine Slattery was elected as Príomh Comhairleoir (Chief Councillor) of Limerick City and County Council, becoming only the second person to hold the title since its creation under the 2024 Local Government reforms. The role of Príomh Comhairleoir, which carries a one-year term, serves as the chairperson of the full Council and is elected by fellow councillors.
