Sports and Recreation (Munster Vales)

Bruff Slí na Sláinte Walking Route is a 3.5km route located north of the town and is designed to encourage people to get more active and get walking.

The Ballyhoura Trails Guide app is your personal guide to the loop walks of Ballyhoura Country, where a world of outdoor adventure, history and cultural heritage is waiting to be explored.

Lough Gur, suitable for coarse angling, is a medium size shallow lake in beautiful, historic surroundings.

Kilmallock Cycle Hub cycle routes are of varying length and level of difficulty. Route 3 is a leisurely spin in the surrounding area of Bruff and scenic Lough Gur. The roads are quiet and relatively traffic free. Watch out for the De Valera cottage, childhood home of Ireland’s third president.

Bruff also has many sports clubs and community facilities including gaelic and soccer pitches. Athletics, camogie and hockey are all available in or near the town. Bruff RFC is the home club of former Irish international rugby player John (The Bull) Hayes.
