Limerick’s multidisciplinary Active Travel team combines engineering, planning and technical expertise, as well as behavioural and communication specialists, to deliver infrastructure that supports safe, sustainable travel for people of all ages and abilities.
Active Travel teams were established across local authorities following the national expansion of active travel investment in 2020. Supported by Department of Transport funding through the National Transport Authority, the team the team works to provide safer, more accessible travel infrastructure, reduce congestion and support healthier, low-carbon lifestyles for the people of Limerick.
