Limerick City and County Council hereby gives notice of increased opening hours from March 1st, 2026 at the following Civic Amenity Sites, Mungret and Kilmallock as follows: 

Mungret Civic Amenity Opening Hours

• Monday 10am - 5pm, last entry at 4.45pm

• Tuesday 10am - 5pm, last entry at 4.45pm

• Wednesday 10am - 5pm, last entry at 4.45pm

• Thursday 10am - 8pm, last entry at 7.45pm

• Friday 10am - 8pm, last entry at 7.45pm

• Saturday 10am - 5pm, last entry at 4.45pm

Kilmallock Civic Amenity Opening Hours

• Tuesday 9am - 5pm, last entry at 4.45pm

• Saturday 9am - 5pm, last entry at 4.45pm

Please note opening times for each centre are subject to change during Christmas periods and Bank Holidays.

Civic Amenity Centres

Free mulch/compost is available to the public for collection from all three Civic Amenity Centres.

Materials accepted

Note** There is a limit of 10 litres for engine and cooking oil.

Larger quantities of the above items are accepted and additional charges apply as follows:

• Engine Oil - €1 per litre      
• Cooking Oil - €0.50 per litre
• Oil Filters - €2 per litre

The above charges only apply when you exceed the limits per customer.

Bulky goods are accepted for disposal at all three sites.

The above items should be taken to Gortadroma Waste and Recycling Centre Ballyhahill, County Limerick.

Gortadroma’s opening hours are 9am to 3pm Tuesday and Wednesday inclusive.

Closed for lunch 1pm to 1.30pm

Gortadroma is closed Thursday to Monday inclusive.
