Bike Week is a celebration and promotion of all that is great about bikes and cycling. Held each year, with bike themed events organised by local authorities, community groups and cycling groups throughout Ireland.
From free bicycle checks, fun cycles, lunchtime city rides, heritage cycles, school cycling events, bike festivals, road races and much more, there’s something for every age and ability. National Bike Week is an initiative of the Department of Transport.
As part of National Bike Week, Limerick City and County Council organises a week of events in workplaces, campuses, schools and communities, all centred around a shared love of cycling.
Bike Week 2026
Bike Week 2026 will take place from 9th to 17th May. Limerick City and County Council will host a full programme of events across the city and county as part of the national celebration.
