Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of the Roads Act 1993 of the intention of Limerick City and County Council to close the roads as detailed hereunder at the specified locations and times in August 2026 to facilitate: Mayor of Limerick, John Moran’s August Activation Events & European Sports for all Event 2026.

The Crescent (R526-8) From its junction with Harstonge Street (L10376-0 &1) to its junction with Barrington Street (L-10381-1) & Newenham Street (L-10380-1) | August Activation Diversions via Newenham Street (L10380-1) and Barrington Street (L10381-1) inbound to City Mallow Street (R526-10) & Lower Mallow Street (R526-11) outbound for HGV’s & Buses Dock Road (R510-12) Local Traffic cars & vans can avail of Harstonge Street (L10376-1) & Lower Harstonge (L10376-0) | On Sat 01st August to Mon 31st 2026. 24hrs/7 days a week Parking Will be suspended for the duration of the closure. |

Back Lane (L10312-0) From its junction with Little Gerald Griffin Street (L10310-0) to its junction with High Street (L10313-0) | August Activation Diversion via High Street (R526-11) or Lower Gerald Griffin Street (R858-13 & 14) | On Sat 01st August to Mon 31st 2026. 24hrs/7 days a week Parking/Parking Prohibition Will be suspended for the duration of the closure. |

- Footpath will remain open to all pedestrians
- Emergency, Blue Route Service will have 24/7 access
- Agreement with the Traffic Authority An Garda s in relation to the operation hours of Road closures subject to the Operational needs of the Roads Policing Unit at Henry Street, Mayorstone Park and Roxboro Garda Stations
- Occasional Licences must be provided, and the Road Closures will be conditioned on the grant of same
Any person may lodge an objection to the proposal to close these roads by email to roads@limerick.ie or in writing to the Administration Team, Central Services, Roads, Limerick City and County Council, Dooradoyle, Limerick not later than 4:00pm on Thursday 2nd July 2026.
