Temporary Closure of Roads: Thomas Street, Limerick City

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of the Roads Act 1993 of the decision of Limerick City and County Council to close the sections of roads detailed hereunder at the specified locations and times to facilitate the construction of 13 no. residential apartment units at 33/34 Thomas Street, Limerick City.

Thomas Street (L-10336-2) from its junction with Anne Street (L-10341-0) to its junction with Wickham Street (R858-11)

Monday 16th August 2027

For a duration of 18 months to accommodate building & construction works

(LCCC Traffic may need to review as appropriate within the timeframe)

  • Pedestrian access to Thomas Street will remain in place and will be maintained at all times. The footpath will need to close around the site so please avail of the alternative footpath across the road and uncontrolled crossing points on Thomas Street
  • Local diversions will operate and be encouraged as this road will be one way from Anne Street to Wickham Street. Diversions via Roche’s Street and Little William Street
  • Emergency Service Vehicles will need access at all times on Thomas Street.
  • No entry to Foxes Bow from Thomas Street is permitted as this is also a one-way Street (Regulatory signs are in place), no right turn is permitted leaving Foxes Bow onto Thomas Street (for the duration of the lane closure)
  • Traffic Management signs will be in place and maintained by the Contractor (PBC Ltd) for the duration of the works
