Limerick City and County Council advises motorists and road users that the following road closures and traffic management arrangements will be in place on Saturday, 31 October 2026, from 7am to 9pm to facilitate a crane lift associated with an ongoing residential project by Formation Homes Ltd. on Barrington Street.
Roads to be Closed
- Pery Square (L-10377-1) and Barrington Street (L-10381-1).
- Barrington Street (L-10381-1) will be closed from its junction with The Crescent (R-526-8) and Quinlan Street (R-526-7) to its junction with Harstonge Street (L-10376-2).
Traffic Management / Diversion Routes
- Diversions will be clearly signposted.
- Local access only will be maintained to Little Barrington Street and Pery Square.
- There will be no through road on Barrington Street while the crane operation is in progress.
- Local access only to Schoolhouse Lane will be available from St. Joseph's Street. The road will be closed at the rear entrance to the site.
- Barrington Street will be closed except for local access from Quinlan Street (R-526), in both northbound and southbound directions.
- Banksmen and appropriate signage will be in place to ensure safety.
Diversions
- Cars and vans (local traffic only): via Harstonge Street (L-10376-2).
- Buses and HGVs: via Mallow Street (L-10367-5) and Lower Mallow Street (R-527).
Limerick City and County Council regrets any inconvenience caused while these works are being carried out.
