Special Pop-Up museum to be part of commemoration of Terry in Limerick on 24th June

Have you got any special memories of the late broadcaster Terry Wogan?

Do you have some memorabilia that is connected with Terry?

Then we would like you to come and bring your items or stories to a special event on Saturday 24th June 2017 in Limerick city centre.

A sculpture of the beloved broadcaster is being unveiled on the city boardwalk at Harvey’s Quay on the Saturday afternoon.

The bronze sculpture is being made by renowned and award winning artist Rory Breslin.

As part of the unveiling ceremony were are calling on people with memories of Terry to come and bring their memorabilia to a special pop-up museum along the boardwalk.

Why not come and speak with other fans, share your photos, letters, souvenirs, family stories and any other memorabilia relating to Terry.

The pop-up museum will be in open from 12 noon until around 5pm on the 24th of June on the boardwalk.

Dr Matt Potter, Curator of the Limerick Museum said “Terry Wogan was probably one of the most famous Limerick people in Britain for over 50 years.”

“He also had a large following in Ireland and never forgot his Limerick and Irish roots.”

"This pop-up museum will allow his legions of fans and followers to bring along their memorabilia and share with us their memories of Terry.”

The pop-up museum is one of series of different strands to the commemoration of Terry in his home town.

The unveiling of the bronze sculpture is scheduled at 3pm that afternoon on the city Boardwalk at Harvey’s Quay.
