The development of 18 new homes in Cliona Park, Moyross has been completed and the homes allocated to new tenants in the community.
Mayor of the City and County of Limerick, Cllr Gerald Mitchell visited the new development today (Thursday 16) and presented tenants with the keys to their new homes.
The project has been delivered by the Limerick City and County Council Regeneration Directorate and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
The new homes are located in the heart of the community, directly opposite Corpus Christi School, Moyross Community Enterprise Centre and the HSE building on Moyross Avenue.
The development has a mix of:
- 6 x two-storey 2-bed houses
- 1 x two-storey 3-bed house
- 5 x three-storey 3-bed houses
- 3 x 1-bed apartments
- 2 x 2-bed apartments
- 1 x 3-bed apartment
The units are energy efficient with an A rated Building Energy Rating (BER) certificate, finished to an exceptionally high standard, and offer spacious accommodation for modern day living.
Welcoming the allocation of the new homes in Cliona Park, Mayor of the City and County of Limerick, Cllr Gerald Mitchell said:
“I’m thrilled for the residents who are receiving the keys to their new homes today. I’m sure they will soon find themselves settled into the welcoming embrace of the community here in Moyross. This is a fantastic new development at Cliona Park with a great mix of one, two and three bed homes. Limerick City and County Council and Limerick Regeneration are acutely aware of the current housing need and I look forward to the delivery of a number of other housing projects currently at various stages of development across the city and county. I wish the new residents here in Cliona Park a happy future in their new homes.”
In addition to the new homes, the development also includes a new access road, a dedicated cycle lane, associated footpaths connecting with existing footpaths at Cliona Park and Moyross Avenue, bin stores, boundary walls, street lighting and associated landscaping.
Construction of the Cliona Park Development Phase 3 by Martins Construction Limited took place between October 2021 and October 2023. The cost of the scheme was €4.8 million.
