Limerick City and County Council is pleased to announce the launch of its fifth initiative under the New Build Incremental Purchase Scheme, offering existing working Local Authority and AHB tenants and households on HAP and RAS the chance to purchase discounted market homes in Clonmacken, Limerick.
This scheme aims to support working families and individuals in transitioning from private rental accommodation—including those availing of HAP, RAS, or social leasing—into homeownership. In particular, the scheme offers opportunity to buy where a household has received a Notice to Quit. Eligible applicants can buy these newly constructed starter homes at a 40–60% discount, based on certain income bands.
Homes on Offer:

Seven units consisting of 3-bedroom homes priced between €99,402 and €149,103 depending on income.

Application Details:
The application process opens on March 24th, 2025, at 9:30 AM and closes on April 22nd, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Eligible candidates must submit a complete application, including Mortgage Approval in Principle, to be considered.
Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, emphasised the importance of such schemes in addressing housing pressure:

This scheme offers a realistic pathway to homeownership, ensuring that more people can have a place to call their own in one of our focus neighbourhoods, Clonmacken."
Brian Kennedy, Director of Housing, highlighted the success of previous initiatives:
