Official Count Underway at Limerick Count Centre: Voter Turnout is 51.83%

The official Local Elections count is now underway in all six of Limerick’s Electoral Areas.

It follows the completion of the sorting of ballot papers at the count centre at Limerick Racecourse.

The overall voter turnout for Limerick is 51.83% up from 49.7% voter turnout in the Local Elections and Mayoral Plebiscite of 2019.

In County Limerick the voter turnout is 55.73%. In Limerick City it is 48.07%.

The European Election ballots have been securely transferred to the count centre in Cork where counting will begin tomorrow morning. 

The counting in the historic Mayor of Limerick Election is not expected to begin in Limerick until Monday morning.

At least one full count in the local elections will be completed this evening.
