Limerick Regeneration Framework Implementation Plan Economic & Social Intervention Fund – 2026 Call

Limerick City and County Council is pleased to invite applications for funding under the Economic and Social Intervention Fund 2026.

The Economic and Social Intervention Fund (ESIF) is a critical instrument to help address disadvantage in Limerick City. The overall vision of the Limerick Regeneration Programme is to create “safe and sustainable communities of opportunity where people of all ages enjoy a good quality of life, a decent home and a sense of pride about their place”. 

Applications are now sought under the following themes: 

  • Community 

  • Education and Learning 

  • Employability and Work 

  • Families and Youth at Risk 

  • Health, Wellbeing and Ageing Well 

The allocation for 2026 ESIF is €1.5 million. 
 
Declan White, Acting Director of Service, Regeneration, Sports and Recreation at Limerick City and County Council explains:   

“The Council are delighted to announce this funding opportunity for groups working with disadvantaged groups in Limerick City.  ESIF funding has made a significant impact on the lives of people living in Limerick’s regeneration areas since its inception, and we’re looking forward to continuing this funding support in 2025. We’re inviting applications that improve service provision under the specific themes of this year’s funding call, and the Council’s Regeneration Team welcome any queries groups may have regarding the 2025 application process.”

All organisations receiving grants will be required to maintain detailed financial and statistical records on the operation of the project and provide evidence of delivery of all proposed project outputs and outcomes to Limerick City and County Council. The application form and outcome reports will be set out to allow ease of reporting on planned objectives and actual outcomes. Organisations are required to give full effect to the project as agreed with Limerick City and County Council in a Service Level Agreement where all conditions listed must be complied with. All projects will be subject to a post payments evaluation procedure.

Please note that the Economic & Social Intervention Fund Grant process is specifically linked to The Limerick Regeneration Programme and funding is currently only available for 2026.
