Limerick City and County Council Welcomes Official Announcement of 2027 Ryder Cup Dates

Limerick City and County Council welcomes the official announcement of the dates for the 2027 Ryder Cup, which will take place at the world-renowned Adare Manor. The confirmation marks a major milestone in Ireland’s sporting history and positions Limerick as the global epicentre of golf from September 13th - 19th in 2027.

Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, welcomed the news stating:

“Today’s announcement is a moment of immense pride for Limerick. Hosting the Ryder Cup is not just a sporting honour – it's a moment when Limerick comes together as a community to welcome the golfing universe with open arms. They will get to see why we believe Limerick is one of the best places in the world, and not just to play competitive golf. it’s a cultural and economic opportunity that will showcase our county on the global stage.” 

Príomh Chomhairleoir of Limerick City and County Council, Cllr Dan McSweeney echoed the excitement: 

“This is a once-in-a-generation moment for Limerick. Hosting the Ryder Cup will bring global attention, visitors, and investment to our region. It is a testament to the vision and hard work of JP & Noreen McManus and family, the Government of Ireland and so many people who believe in what Limerick has to offer.” 

Dr Pat Daly, Director General of Limerick City and County Council, praised the collaborative effort behind the scenes: 

“This announcement is the result of years of dedication and planning. I want to thank our incredible Council staff who have worked tirelessly to prepare for this moment. Their commitment ensures that Limerick will shine on the world stage.” 

Limerick City and County Council wish to give special recognition to the McManus family, whose vision and generosity were instrumental in bringing the Ryder Cup to Ireland. Their continued investment in Adare Manor and the wider community has made this historic event possible. 

The Council also extends gratitude to Minister for Sport Patrick O’Donovan TD and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media for their unwavering support and leadership in securing the event and wish the Ryder Cup Europe team the very best of luck on their preparations for the event. 

As the countdown begins, Limerick is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors, golfers, and media from around the globe. The 2027 Ryder Cup promises to be a celebration of sport, community, and the world famous Limerick embracing hospitality.
