Limerick City Centre continues to show strong signs of growth and investment with the official opening of ALDI’s newest store on Roches Street.
The store brings fresh energy to the heart of the city, creating new jobs and offering increased choice for shoppers, while reinforcing Limerick’s reputation as a vibrant and welcoming place to do business.
ALDI Ireland’s €16.6 million new store is a significant commitment to Limerick creating up to 30 new permanent jobs in the city.
Mayor of Limerick, John Moran welcomed the new store, saying:
“For as long as I can remember, this strategic site has lain empty right in our city centre. It is great to see this store, right in the heart of Limerick, open now for the people of the city and those working there. ALDI’s investment is another big vote of confidence in Limerick city centre and, in particular, for Roche’s Street. The revitalisation of that street all the way from Parnell Street to O’Connell Street is a particular focus of the Mayoral Programme. It’s also fantastic news on the jobs front. I want to congratulate ALDI and offer all the team at the new Roche’s Street store every best wish.”
Cathaoirleach of the Metropolitan District of Limerick, Cllr Daniel Butler officially opened the new store and commented:
“I’m delighted to officially open ALDI’s new store on Roches Street right in the heart of Limerick city. It is a welcome investment that brings activity, jobs, and opportunity to our urban core. Limerick City and County Council is proud to support businesses that choose to grow here. This store is a great addition to the city centre, and I wish the team at ALDI every success as they become part of our vibrant business community.”
Director General of Limerick City and County Council, Dr Pat Daly added:
“It’s fantastic to see new life on Roches Street. A store like this brings more footfall, more energy, and more convenience for local residents. It helps to strengthen the community and make the city centre a more attractive place to spend time.”
