Further public consultation about re-imagining of O’Connell Street

  • Limerick City and County Council

Limerick City and County Council is holding another round of public consultation days as part of the re-imagining of O’Connell Street, Limerick's premier thoroughfare.

Following on from the previous series of meetings with various stakeholders and members of the public on design options, a preferred design is emerging.

Limerick City and County Council is now inviting feedback on the emerging preferred design before the formal stage of Public Consultation commences under the Part 8 Planning process.

The design team is interested in your opinions and suggestions on how the proposed design will help improve the public area, regenerate the urban fabric, reduce air pollution and promote noise reduction on O’Connell Street.

Feedback on the emerging preferred design will be considered in the preparation of the formal Part 8 submission for the project.

Funding of €4 million for the project is being provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with the balance coming from Limerick City and County Council.

Details of the emerging preferred design will be on display in Merchant’s Quay on Tuesday 20th June 2017 from 4pm until 7.30pm.

Submissions will be accepted by post and email to the contact details below up to Friday 23rd June 2017. Please come along and have your say!
