The consultation period designed to allow the public to give their opinions in relation to a Directly Elected Mayor for Limerick has been extended.

The new closing date for submission is Friday 07 August 2020.

A part of the work of the Independent Advisory Group (IAG), formed to advise the Minister on the establishment of a directly elected mayor, a public consultation exercise is asking the people of Limerick what they want from their directly elected Mayor.

The public consultation exercise is being conducted by Professor Maura Adshead and her team in the Department of Politics and Public Administration, University of Limerick.

The responses to the public consultation will form part of the report the IAG will compile and submit to the Minister for Local Government and Planning later this year.
